Trail Description
Ramsey Bar is located in the hills north of the town of Concow, off of HWY 70 in Butte county. The terrain ranges from maintained logging roads, to large outcroppings of granite. There are water crossings, some mud, sandy hills, and just about anything else you can think of, so it's a fun place for the novice with a stock 4WD, as well as the more advanced driver with a built trail rig. During the summer, the roads are pretty passable, but there are some spots where it's pretty rutted, during the winter, there can be a considerable amount of snow on the ground. Use caution when traveling on the roads, as it is a popular spot for dirtbikes and ATVs, there is also logging traffic. It's recomended that you set aside enough time to camp, as there is just too much to explore in a day.
To get there, take highway 70 towards Quincy, turn left at Concow road, follow concow road for roughly 15 miles , once you reach the creek, you're there. From the creek, there are trails in pretty much all directions, so have fun exploring.
