Nearby Town: Red Bluff, CA

Nearby Camping: Antelope Creek Campground (Facht Place), Red Bluff R.V. Park

Directions: From Red Bluff travel south on Hwy 99 to Hogsback Road. Turn left (east) on Hogsback. The road turns to dirt at the intersection with Tuscan Springs Road. This is the trailhead. From the trailhead, travel east 10 miles to the fork leading to Facht Place. This crossroad in unmarked so watch your mileage. Keep you eye out for a right turning fork that crosses a cattle guard. That’s your turn. After the fork you will make the descent to Facht Place and Antelope Creek below.

Trail Conditions: This route offers a wide variety of terrain. Difficulty ranges from a low of 1 to a high of 8. The trail begins as a graded county road that progressively gets worse over time. Be prepared for a jaw rattling ride over the rock strewn hogsback road until reaching the turn to Facht Place. After turning off Hogsback you begin the descent to Antelope Creek. This portion of the trail is short but very challenging. Bring a spotter to guide you down this technical grade. Once you reach Facht Place you can spend some time exploring Antelope creek before making the trip back up to Hogsback.
