Trail Description
The trail to Shasta Bally is a well maintained Road. 75% of this ascent is a level 1 and is passable with any stock vehicle. The 4837’ climb in just over 7 miles earns a level 3 rating. Be prepared for some steep stretches. Low gears will come in handy both up and down. The highlight of this trail would have to be the incredible vistas along the way and from the summit. Be sure to bring your camera along. On a clear day you will see Whiskeytown and Shasta lakes, the entire valley to the east, from Redding to Red Bluff, and the beautiful peaks of the Trinity National Forest to the west.

Directions
From Redding, travel 7 miles west on State Route 299 to J.F.Kennedy Memorial Rd. Turn Left (south) and continue around Whiskeytown Lake to Brandy Creek Rd. This is the trailhead.
Other things to check out
Along the way you will pass the trailhead to Brandy Creek falls. I have not made this trek but others have told me it is worth the short hike along Brandy Creek. On a hot day bring your swimsuits for a dip in Whiskeytown Lake. Water temps are very refreshing during the summer months.
