Trail Description

We had just a little more wheelin left in us when we found trail 30 near the Wolf Creek staging area. The photos we took were just a small section to the north of the staging area. The trail is actually a very long one that turns south and follows Goat Mountain Road and eventually turns into it.

The little we did see was quite a bit of fun. There were three good sized hills all right back to back. This isn’t more than a level three trail as most high ground clearance vehicles will have little trouble. You may have a little trouble reaching the summits in 2wd, but it’s possible. If you have just a little energy to spend before you head out, this is worth a look. The map is pretty inaccurate so it’s there just for a general reference. You can see where I drew in one road that wasn’t in my software.

Directions

From the north, exit I-5 at Willows and take Hwy 162 Through Elk Creek and then left to Stonyford. You take Fout Springs Rd approximately 5 miles and you’ll see the trail labled 30 on the right just before the Wolf Creek staging area. From the south, exit I-5 at Maxwell and take Maxwell Rd approximately 30 miles to reach Stonyford and then proceed as above from Stonyford.
