1. Jack up and place the rear on jack stands (note: do not put the jack stands on the leaf springs use the frame) and remove the wheels.
2. On the left side start by removing the front bolt that holds the leaf spring and lower the spring. Move the parking brake cable from the inside of the spring to the outside of the spring and reinstall the spring.

3. Place the jack under the axle and remove the left hand shock and the U-bolts on the left side and lower the axle. Place the block with the smaller side in the front. Jack the axle back up until it seats on the spring. Install the new U-bolts and torque to 900†pounds (75’ pounds), Install the new shock. Repeat the same on the right side (note: you wont have to move the parking brake cable). Reinstall the wheels and remove the jack stands you are done with the rear of the install.
4. Remove the radius control arm nut, washer, and bushing. Jack up and place the jack stands just behind the Radius control arm mount. Remove the tires. Place tire blocks behind the rear tires so the truck wont move. Remove the drag link from the pitman arm.

5. Starting on the left side drill out and remove the rivets on the side that hold the radius control arm mount to the frame.
6. Remove the two bolts that hold the radius control arm mount to the frame.

The radius arm bracket must be removed.
7. Place a floor jack under the axle by the spring and jack up. Remove the shock bottom mount bolt. Use a spring compressor to compress the spring and lower the jack and remove the spring. (Note: do not remove the jack you need it to support the axle.)
8. Remove the axle pivot bolt. Remove the 4 bolts that connect the two radius control arm mounts together and remove the left one. Remove the left axle pivot mount from the frame (note: the mount is on the right side and it must come off).
9. Place the drop bracket into the mount that you took off the frame put the old pivot bolt though the two and a bolt though the other common hole and snug it down.

10. This is a good time to change the axle bushing (you already have the axle removed)11. Drill a hole and install a bolt and nut, remove the top bolt and reinstall the mount and axle.
12. Install the radius control arm drop bracket.

13. Reinstall the radius control arm bracket, radius control arm with the new bushings, washer and nut torque to 900†pounds (75’ pounds)
14. Install the new spring and the new shock. You now have the left side done.
15. On the right side remove the radius control arm, shock and spring as in step 6 and 7. Remove the axle bolt.
16. Drill out the 4 rivets that hold the axle pivot mount to the cross member. Install the axle pivot mount to the drop bracket (note: you will need to trim to fit).
17. Now is a good time to change the axle bushing, install the axle.
18. Install the radius control arm drop bracket. Reinstall the radius control arm bracket, reinstall the 4 bolts that were removed in step 8, reinstall radius control arm with the new bushings, washer and nut torque to 900†pounds (75’ pounds)
19. Install the new spring and the new shock. You now have the right side done.
20. Reinstall the wheels and lower the truck.
21. Remove the pitman arm and replace with the new one.
22. You are now done. Some things that need to be done are bigger tires and you should put longer brake lines on. You will need to get a front-end alignment.
