My parents live in St. Helens, and I wanted to get out of Nor Cal... needed a change of scenery.

Good luck getting on with the oil fields. sometimes it's easy and sometimes you need to know someone, it's mostly non union work in North Dakota so it doesn't pay as well but at least it's work. The only person I know working in the oil fields is Wench's son Josh but I don't know how to get a hold of him. anyway good luck and I hope it all works out for you.

I have heard the same about it being hit or miss. presently I have a job offer from Missouri Basin in ND. entry level wage is 19-22/hr day shift 20-25/hr night shift 70hra/week. I would be hauling crude, frac sand or frac water(probably sand as i dont think they like newbs driving tankers. sent in an app last weekend and they called the shcool saying that they are very interested in hiring me.

Congratulations Posted Image if you cant get the job you want right now there are some good companies out there that treat their drivers good . the main thing is to find a company that will keep you busy and get you home when you need to be home. for line haul it's usually 2 weeks out 2 days off. Make sure if you have to go line haul that they pay off the hub mileage, not load or rand McNalley mileage and if you find one that pays percentage be real careful sometimes they will put a load on you that really doesn't pay good but sometimes they have to just to get you to a better paying load.

Got a job.

I will be headed for Williston, ND thursday morning. I had been talking with some guys at Brady Trucking based out of Vernal, UT. they have a yard in Williston. Since I have no experience driving truck they cant hire straight up as a driver (their insurance say no no) so I will be starting out as a wrench monkey/ driver in training. may be wrenching for a year or so with brief interludes as a truck driver, but should be moved into a full time driving position before too long.
