Death To Spammers!

First I want to reassure everyone that we're still here and still care about trail hunters. Second I want to thank Onk, tfpets and Sage for donating their time to catching the spam. It's been particularly aggressive these past weeks.

Today I upgraded the license for the forum and a couple of it's best features are with security and privacy. They have a spam monitoring service. What that means, every time a user is flagged as a spammer, that report is send to Invision and stored in their database. Next when someone registers a new account, it checks to see if they've been black listed in their database and auto-bans them if they have been flagged. It also has a stronger captcha code (the funny text) to enter when they register too.

So hopefully these new measures will mean an end to the spam. Posted Image

We have still seen some spammer's come through after the upgrade that Eric did.The upgrade has made a huge difference in the amount of spam but seems to have not eliminated it all.

Thanks to all that use the report function. This assits me greatly in my efforts to delete all the spam from the site and banning users that are spammers. Please keep up the good work.

For thoes that don't report it... PLEASE do so.

With another recent change It would seem to have put a end to the spam issue. I don't like counting my eggs before they hatch but I think that we got the issue whipped!

Onk! it is alright to count your eggs before they hatch. That way you know how many eggs you have....

Now, counting your chickens before they hatch is questionable!:banghead:
