Rubicon In June? getting the itch again

I warmed up the old J-truck again yesterday and immediately felt the itch to wheel it - soon.
Anybody up for another Rubicon epic? I'm thinking June, work from Tahoe side to Loon Lake (backwards from our usual route), get to the trail head on a Sunday afternoon and come home on a Tuesday or Wednesday. For me, June 20-23 works best.
Note: I haven't done any research yet on trail availability or snow levels. Just explorin' options and interest levels.
What think ye?
On a side note, I'm considering a Chappie test run in late May - maybe the 23rd. Is Chappie open?

It'd be good to have you of course...
Regarding snow, see this Pirate thread...it has pictures from last weekend (May 1 & 2). Memorial Day is not looking good.

Looking at the event calendar, I see the Rubithon ends the day I propose going in. Will that conflict with your plans? (I.e., are you planning to attend the Rubithon?)
They're supposed to get another 3' of snow today/tonight above 6500-7000 feet. I hope it melts off before mid-June! At least off the trail proper. I don't mind snow on the sides and/or ice in the water (but I ain't swimmin'!). Cadillac would be a bit sloppy, as would Big Sluice. Mmm, sounds like fun!
Corvelle, congrats in the buggy awards. Hijack: I saw some little utility truck for sale and envisioned building it into a mini wheeler using old-style VW bus portal axles...hmmmm.

Poke Tim to log on ... July what? I would think the region of July 4 would be fairly contra-indicated (as Maj. Frank Burns would say). I'd like to see if I can make the Safeway Waterfront Blues Festival in Portland anyway.

I like June the most, but July 11-14 would work. Just not looking forward to another day or two of baking on Hwy 99.

As I have said before you can do it in a buggy you will just have to use the skinny pedal a little and choose your path well

All of June is booked for me, so far July is wide open. Right now July is open for me - I think I can do July 11-14

The Pirate 4x4 Rubicon Trail Calendar still shows July 11-14 open to "outside" invaders.
Here's a good thread to browse for ideas, if we're not wrenching too hard on a broken rig...

Just tryin' to keep the interest up.

Grr. Bummer...I feel your pain.
I'm holding out hope for me. Refi on the house - nearly $500 up front. Second radiator work is costing more than I anticipated (as usual). Git 'er done!
In case folks didn't see last year's run, and the year before:
2006 run
2007 run
2008 run
2009 run
