went to P n Pull today as it's 4th of July weekend and "of course" half price time. No more pick n pulls half off days. Instead, now they have "weekly specials". This weeks list had about 8 items, things like; hub caps, rear view mirrors, ect.

On the way to the Rubicon my fan motor bearings went bad, we went to a yard where I pulled a fan and paid about $27. That is about what I paid on a half price day at P-n-Pull.

Bad economy so PnP is busy? Don't need to take care of customers anymore to get our business? Heck with em, I'm boycotting Pick n Pull till they bring back half price days.

rgr that, i believe we got our fans for under $30 on 1/2 price days at PnP, less than $30 on full price day in marysville. Only reason I'd go to PnP is cause their selection is fair to midland and 1/2 off prices don't gouge ya. them bastiges dunno whats good for em, some xec prolly aint making as much in the market so has to take more outa the yard.

gonna hafta check out chico I guess, know the name of it vin?

I'm with you on this. PnP seems to have gotten more avaricious nowadays. Viking Auto Salvage (or whatever it's called now) has switched to a u-pull-it business now. Too bad they're open when I'm at work...

BTW I think you practically drive past my driveway on the way to PnP. I don't recall a knock on the door... :ermm:

Don't bother coming to the one in Chico. From what I've heard it was bought out by the same people as in Redding?? and the lot is completely disorganized and prices all went up. Things just are not the way they used to be.....
Sure wish I had a gear wrench right about now!!

I can barely find my way home after a trip to PnP, let alone your house!

I hate how they think something like a tale gate has multiple parts in it that you have to pay separately for. A price for the gate, a price for the handle and another price for the locking assembly and another price for the cables that hold it level when it's open. It can be a bit shocking at the checkout line.

wow, I'm a bit surprised at the consensus on how cruddy Pick n Pull has become. Seems to me they started out as a pretty good business. Would be interesting to know how/why they made the decisions that made them so crappy.

Dunno. Stopped by Viking this afternoon, for a little fact-finding.

When I asked the guy how long they'd been self-serve, he said, "Just a short time." I don't know if they're going out of business soon (I doubt it tho') or if they saw PnP's writing on the wall and knew they could compete.

Price for an A/C compressor: $28.99. Although he said pickin's are slim in the A/C compressor department right now.

They're open weekdays 'til 5pm, Saturdays 8:30 - 12:30.
