Now to the eye candy..... Its been fun this week ordering a ton of parts. I held out a little bit and was able to find 2 guys on pirates selling a brnad new detroit for the 60 and new grizzly for the 14 bolt. Saved myself about 350 bucks between the 2. Ordered 4.88 gears, install kits, and new wheels. Also am install kit for the 14 bolt that consisted of u-bolts, perches, and upper plates.

Here is what I have so far...

Well been a while since I updated this, thought i better show some eye candy. Not sure if anyone is even really looking at the site much anymore, been pretty slow around here but thought I would throw these out anyways.

First off, got the rear end under it and drove it down to the gas station and back, now terrible weird noises, guess that is a plus

Got knuckles drilled and the steering all hooked up today. Working on the track bar next, then to the alignment shop to check caster before welding it all together for final.

Looks great! How much did the 14-bolt cost once you total all the gears and locker? I know you got it with the '70, but I was wondering what you figured for "out of pocket" rebuild. It looks "brand new". I have one under an old '78 Chev I was thinking about hanging on to and fixing up.

Your drag link looks like soft spaghetti. I don't think I've seen one wiggle like that. My link, looking down, looks like this on my '44.

The "little helper" pic looks like you got a new one, but I was wondering how you torqued the old one.

How did you address an "emergency" brake with the rear disc conversion? I got the conversion kit when I bought my Bronc, but decided I'd rather be able to lock it down if I decided to step out of it. (my conv kit is for sale if you know another Bronc guy that wants one)

I like your truck! Keep posting. I'd like to see some trail pics. Mine is almost through emissions. I blew up in the hydrocarbons test, but I think I have that one licked.

As for cost with LOCKER, GEARS, INSTALL KIT, NEW WHEEL BEARINGS & SEALS, CALIPERS, ROTORS, probably about $1000 including the 100 i spent fot the axle. And yes, that is everything brand new.

I assume your refering to the rusted drag link, the one between the tires with the bend in it? It is the factory tie rod, the clean silver one u see in the helper pic is the bullet proof steering on my old 44. it is now on the 60

not sure what your refering to when your talking about torque?

No e brake for now, maybe a link lock or something else down the road

By torque, I just meant twisted. I don't remember seeing one like that and thought you bent it out of shape wheeling or something.

Lockers and gears are on top of my list. Just waiting on cash. Keep up the good work.

Been a while since I updated this, here are a few photos of it out with the TONS and 38's.

Done a few more things to it, will get some pitures of that up, including a hydraulic winch and upgraded ps pump, but now for some pics

I can't quite see the new gear on this pic. Maybe you can take another pic from different angle so we can see it better.:w00t:
