Well I figured I might as well start this out the right way with a build tread. I have Been on the search for a while for a 78-79 bronco that just needed some tender loving care that I could swap everything from my truck off of to.

Basiclly needed something that could haul the family. When I built me truck about 5 years ago it was just my wife and I. Now there is my beautiful 18 month old daughter Alexis  and a son on the way in July. So hense the reason for a 4 seater!!!

So to start this out here are a few picks of it, Just picked it up today for a pretty good deal I thought

Sweet man! So for starters, what are you keeping from the Bronc and what's getting swapped in from the F150?

Well the plans as of right now are......

1. Get starting on its own. Someone has hacked the wiring to the ignition and you have to jump it to start it.

2. Fix the Brakes. the last person I was told bent a rod or the linkage to the master cylinder so the pedal sticks.

And the once it is drivable and registered the plans are...

1. swap in my axles and tires from the F150

2. Swap in my 4 speed and twin stick the T-Case.

3. I would love to do a dual case set up but that depends on funds. The adapter is a lot of money.

4. and finally swap over all the other goodies from my truck. By the time I get done with my truck there shouldn't be much left.

Thanks for the offer guys. I will keep that in mind. Not sure I will be able to make any runs in the next few months though being as my wife is due in about 2 months. She gets a little leary if I am out of town around that time.

Since its only a couple of weeks away, maybe the memorial run could be the last for the old rig :whistling:

The old rig is sort of out of commision. The drive line had an unsightly meeting with a rock and now has a pretty good vibration on the high way

Just a little update....

Been working on trying to get the wiring all working. Got it to start from the key now. But have also figured out that it has the wrong ignition switch in it. That explains why all the stock wires don't hook up to it. Found that out by comparing what is in the bronco to what the stock wiring diagram shows.

Oh by the way the stock wiring diagrams were still avaible through FORD.

I will try to get some pics of the inside tomorrow to show what I had to start with.

Also got the brakes working a little better. Maybe noy perfect yet but atleast they don't lock up now and not release.

Just from what I have seen from the little bit I have been into so far some people shouldn't be aloud to work on vehicle

Lol yea ya have to use coathanger wire and duct tape , not string and scotchtape. :)

If it works don't fix it...If it breaks upgrade it!

Well a little update. Don't really have any new pictures yet.

Got all the wiring in the cab back together the proper way finally. Had to steal the ignition switch and wiring out of the Green truck to make it right. Someone had tried to put the entirely wrong switch and wiring in it.

Swapped the exhaust of the truck to the bronco also.

And after spending about 4 hours messing with the engine trying to get it to run right I have come to the conclusion it is loosing battle and will be easier to swap out the engine in the the truck to it. So i started that last night but haven't got very far

I will still try to get some more pics of the inside condition and get them up.

It would but I think I am going to leave the bronco body stock except for possibly shaving the fender to clear the tires

So a new update.....

Got the engine and trans out of the bronco, and the engine and trans out of the f150. Finished putting a new rear main, oil pan gasket and valve cover gasket on the engine out of the f150 that is going in the bronco. So I get around to it the weekend I will stick it in.

Here are a few more pics of what I started with.

This is how I got the interior

Here is the front end with a 31 on it.

And here is with one of my 37 next to it. Granted it will have a little more room in the wheel well once it is mounted. But gives a little comparison.

Here is a shot of the engine compartment and what the previous owner did trying to figure out why it wouldn't start. All that was wrong was the ignition switch was unhooked
