The Beest got his new exhaust this week just in time for the dunes!

Before...dual glass packs...

Posted Image

The new Baja header gives more ground clearance...

Posted Image

And now the Beest has his Stinger!!

Posted Image

With the baffle installed, the stinger is quieter than the glass packs, but with more back pressure form the combined header, it has more power. I can live with less noise. I guess. :whistling:

After battling sand in the points at the dunes recently, The Beest now has electronic ignition.

I found a very simple kit that just replaces the points...

If I knew it would be this easy, I would have done this a loooong time ago.

And....I cashed in my change jar and got the engine cage yesterday. I chose a design that looks like the tube bumpers normally seen on 4X4s.

Posted Image

I got it mounted up and will be priming and painting today...

Now I just need the skid plate...

OK...I know...now the Beest has a cage... :whistling:

Nice looking engine cage  and if you want to you can make some rear supports by running a couple of bars up to the main hoop and tie the engine cage into the rest of the chasis

Well the paint dried (still dizzy from the fumes  ) so I figured I would bolt it up and post a "done" pic.

Posted Image

Whats cool is when viewed from a distance, you don't notice the black vertical tubes. It just looks like the tube frame and bumper.

It really doesn't if you get motivated and actually get something done. Mine has taken a little longer do to the pregnant wife and the daughter that needs daddy to play with her. Got to take care of the priorities first

The 4x4 will get done eventually
