We had a heck of a day on Holy Cross... here's the post I did with pics

http://tc.wagoneer.net/sblog/index.p...y080816-155615

Short version: the trail got a lot harder over the last few years! We struggled to get up the main obstacle before french creek. Most got up, some with a strap, but then scott's rig had the fan clutch go thru the radiator so we had to back him down to fix. At that point it was late so we headed back. I didn't even try the obstacle cuz I didn't see the point. Didn't figure I could get up it without a strap or damage, and might hafta rely on it to get scott & i back home, so... chickened out. But anyway the trail was a lot of fun, what we saw of it. Next time we'll get back up to Holy Cross City like before... still have no idea what the line is up that one obstacle but I'm sure it'll change (get harder?) by next time! Posted Image

Cool writeup! I've heard good things about that trail. I'll have to check it out if I'm ever in the area.

We were up on the Holy Cross Trail in August '08 as well. Here are some of the pics from our trip. Never mind the date on the photos, seems I can't remember to reset the date and time when changing batteries in the camera.

picking our line through French Creek, man those holes are deep when you only have 31" tires

For those of you who remember me I added a 4x pinz to my collection. It is the one in the pics above. I still have my 6x but wanted a little more excitement so I picked up a 4x version.

Pinz, very cool pictures! Thanks for sharing. Makes me want to dust off the rig already and hit the road...

Headed out again this weekend towards Calif. to Harquahala Mt. in western AZ. Not a difficult run but a very scenic one.
