Well My truck went down a couple weeks ago :censored:

It started overheating and using water before I relised the oil was chocholet milk. I never got into the red on the thermostat as far as I know but I fiqured the headgasket went. once we got the head off we didnt see anything on the gasket that made us say "That's where the problem was."

So tommoroww I have the head pressure tested.

look at the timing chain guides they were out then the chain will eat in to the waterpump passage then you get water in the oil

ya your guide is compleatly broke and its chewed into the case you need to pull the front cover and see if its gone all the way threw (it looks like it has ) if it is get another cover and timing chain kit  go to enginebuilder.com for a good price on everything also they sell the metal guide kit so you wont have to go threw this BS again. hope this helps

:headbanger: It's Alive!!! :headbanger:

My rigs good to go. exept for a few small water leaks to deal with and my rockerarms REALLY NEED TO BE ADJUSTED. (tommorow morning's project). And this noise from the fanbelt area that I think might be a pully bearing. other than that its running real strong

As for Pattis rig.....

Toyoter, was there wearmarks on her timing chain cover when you put it back together? There is now. And I dont see a chain guide on the drivers side. I could be wrong about the guide or no seeing it but the timeing jumped a tooth last week while we were wheeling out of Black Rock and we limped it home.

Thanx again for tour help Vinny. Iv'e learned alot latley about 22r's and 22re's LOL

i think the cover had marks already it was a used one but was still good you cant tell if the guide is there or not unless you pull the valve cover (im sure you know that  ) if it jumped time i would not drive it any more the chain tenchener sounds shot

Update

Both of our rigs are still sitting in the driveway with the same problem. I parked mine a month ago with water still getting in the oil. With luck we should get mine running today.

Thanx moterhead for the use of the tourque wrench. And everyone else who offered

When we pulled the head lastnight the headbolts weren't much more than finger tight

Funny Story.

Arter changing the headgasket and tourquing the head right this time we discovered we had a timing issue Again. In the prosses of doing so Ray says " I cant believe I saw what I just saw"

Seems we knocked the Hard rubber piece off the end of the brand new chain tentioner piston :censored:

Now we get to pull the brand new timming cover AGAIN!!!

And then IF we ever get mine done........We do the same thing to Pattis rig.
