When i am driving about 50 mph and let off the gas it hella drops speed fast as if its dragging on the brakes or somthing (but its not) and the entire time its dropping speed the engine is making a weird noise like idleing high and idling low and the rpms are jumping from 2k to 2.5 what could it be? i was thinking maybe fuel filter or pump but wouldnt that effect all the speeds? its only doing it from 50 to 40 mph... and its hella eating up gas

My son's friend just did a tune up on her Cherokee; plugs, filters, etc. Anyway, when they were done it idled fine, but would bog under acceleration. The problem was that with the new air cleaner it was getting too much air. She had to disconnect the neg battery cable to reset the computer.

Have you made any similar changes? If not, maybe one of your sensors is defective or disconnected, or a vaccum line is broken.

I had a Nissan (car) once with an acceleration/shifting (AT) problem. Three mechanics, including a Nissan specialist couldn't figure out the problem, but they were all sure a rebuilt tranny would fix it  . Finally at a different tranny shop, after two days of troubleshooting, they found a tear in the intake air hose that was only visible when the accelerator was pushed. $9.00 fix. (About 15 years ago). Probably a couple hundred now! 8|

Check all your electrical connections, air hoses and vaccum lines. If none of that works you may have to get someone to read the trouble codes stored in the computer.

I went to check the codes but they said the couldnt pre 93... I will check out all my vacum lines and hoses to see if any problems there, i also had my dash apart when this started happening but im pretty sure non of the wires were damaged, and now that its all put back together its still doing it, i have gnarly leak that has to do with the egr i guess.. could that have anything to do with it? Im also getting a free tps sooooo... ima try too...
