hey guys, does anybody know if the 81 toyota transfercase will bolt up to an 89 transfer case. i know the 81 is 21 spline and mine is 23 spline but are the case housings the exact same? can u put the 23 spline into the 81 case? reason being is i got it for my dual case in my runner thanks

Man you sure you have a 23 spline, I think the 23 spline came in turbo toyota not non turbo so you should have a 21 spline

the case will work but you will need to change the input

also if you have a 89 4cyl its a 21 spline unless its been changed

YA, thats what i was telling him that it was 21 spline i did tons of research and found nothin sayin they were 23 spline...only turboed toyota and v6s are 23 spline......

yea thanks i got faulty info. it will work, need to put a new bearing in it. this one i know for sure is gone. it came of my dads old 81
