If I got a rig for $1000 I would wheel it the way it is till the wheels ware off.

I would wheel it then when you can do a solid axle swap I have seen the ifs on the trail they have a little more difficulty on some things but still do well

I did some digging into it and I think it is just the starter. So tomorrow it is starter, oil change, drain the tank, fuel filter, spark plugs.
I hate to say it but the body lift really helps (in my driveway)
I have an 82 (minus body) sitting in my garage acting as a very large shelf.

side note- how do ya like the HF tire changer? I have done mine by hand, and was thinking about buying one, but have heard mixed results on it... any honest opinion for a fellow trailhunter?

it works good, there is a definitely a learning curve involved with the mounting, especially larger tires. I don 't know how big of a tire you can do but I mounted a pair of 33's in about 45 minutes (that was with figuring out how it works). To do larger tires it really need to be mounted to concrete. I plan on trying the air soft pellet balancing.
here is a good discussion http://www.naxja.org...ead.php?t=98124
I got the runner fired up today, all I did was smack the starter with a wrench!
