I just picked up a 89 F250 it has a 6" lift and a shakle reversal so it is setting up about 8 1/2", it aslo has a dana 60 out of a 93. the problem is the front drive line hits the crossmember. was wondering if I could drop th e crossmember or if I would have to cut it in half and notch it out.. any help will be good..

thanks bryan

Generally the best way is to build a new cross member unless you can get a way with just cutting a little bit. The other problem is though that if you have that much angle on the driveline you will most likely need a new driveline also that can handle the angle.

is the x member bolted to anything? i.e. is it holding up the bellhousing or t-case? can you cut-n-move it forward or back as well as notch it?

Yes, the cross member on the fords is what holds the tranny in. It can't really be moved. Some guys remake them so they go up over the driveline instead of under it.
