hehe Isn't that the cycle? after picking up a bald 37" bogger from adam (green f150 with black flames) I measured it out to 33/34", I might pick up one of his 38" ones with a little tread left, it might actually be fairly close to the 36" irok.

just gotta figure out what to do about that front bumper....I thought about some sort of stinger like toyoders....I'm not sure. I hate to scrap the whole thing, I think I'm just going to chop it down at the middle tubes and angles the edges to a point (if that makes sense. I like the whole main hoop thing because it somewhat protects the lights/fenders etc from being smashed, but It's just too bulky and weird. looks like a 3rd grader drew it up with crayons. I hate to say it but these old ford are hard to make a front bumper look good for. yoders runner looks sweet, and I have seen a ton of yotas that look killer, most the full size broncos i see have a tiny little light bar on the front bumper or some fugly ass all tube front pre-runner bumper with 6 8" lights on it for desert racing. I might post a few that I semi-liked and see what ya'll think.

your bumper would look better if you added some more to it on the bottom or just start over and build one that doesent go so high kinda like this Posted Image

yoder what do ya mean add some to the bottem? I hav been thinking of cutting the 2 90* bends off the ends and make it narrower and probley redo the "stinger" like what you posted above.(god I just shivered typing that)

The bumper looks ok, I'd have it a lil more inverted, the same idea, I like his dog tho. I wouldn't mind him at all!

I liked this truck a lot....loved the front end tube work. wouldnt look right on a full size tho imo, but looks killer on this yota.

update...

finally fixed the broken studs on the front and rear driver's side. rear was cake, front was a lil harder being as the lock washer was way jammed and took me a good hour to pull the dang thing out. I feel better that my 36" tires are being held on by 5 lugs and not 4 now!

I also got a bald 37" bogger for a spare from a local guy and mounted it and junk saturday. You guys may laugh at me, but There was a awesome feeling of acomplishment when I used a pry bar, soapy water, and starter fluid to mount a tire in my front yard. I felt like a certified bad@ss. :headbanger: I know it's not too big a deal, but for a n00b like me it was really cool!

I bent up the 'stinger'.. I think it came out great. I don't really like it on this bumper, but I figured I'd try it to see how it looks. It's a little tall, but that's good in case I need to cut it and re-weld on a new bumper. I like it for now, It seems strong and not too heavy, just wish I had used 1/2" for the mounts...I have some too... coulda shoulda woulda!

heres some pics of junk-

my 'stinger' thing, I'm so proud of this stupid thing. :>

my fugly bumper thing. The 1/4" mounts will get cut off flush sometime. I had the lights sitting from a previous vehicle, so I welded up some light tabs.

My buddy pointed out I had a very patriotic house...the flag waving, god bless America plate on the truck, Hannity on the radio, working on the american made 4wd. :headbanger:

as always, lemme know what you think...I still gotta wheel it! only a few more things to fix, like change the diff fluid. I have done good to wait till I know I'm more than trail worthy. Nothing worse than being broke on the trail!

Looks like you did a pretty good job building your bumper / guard. Esspecially if you did the bending with that pipe kinker you got from me. The only thing I'm wondering is why you need all that on there?

to perfect my Harbor freight pipe kinking abilitys! to smash civics on my way to work? In case I decide to smash into a tree etc? I dont plan on hitting anything, But I like having the protection there if things get rocky and I end up wrong side up or into a tree, hopefully this will help. Mostly it was just learning the way of the bender. Which btw I LOVE! thanks!
I really don't like the main hoop, but I havn't fabbed up a new bumper yet, so I figure I'll thrash this one till I make a new one and find out what I need vs what is wasted weight etc. Hell it's practice(welding and bending) for me, and a release from dreaded wedding planning!

I took my time on the hoop and it showed I was amazed at the bends it made... :headbanger: I am planning to eventually make a bumper out of 2x6 I got sittin in the garage, just figured I'd get some more practice with the welder today and see how it looked on the truck. I left the stinget long too so I could cut it off and reweld it. Thanks for the target tip, i'll take tat into consideration!

thank you! yea it's all a matter of angles and measuring right. It was also my first time doing the chopsaw notching, worked out pretty well.

I also pulled the front hubs apart and cleaned everything and repacked the wheel bearings. Figured I would while I had junk apart.

well, I went out to chappie on a whim with my buddy. got about 1/2 mile down the trail and it stalls. It had a few hickups on the way there, but I figured it was because it was so cold (snowing last saturday) so I limped it back to my parent's house, in landpark estates, then had Keiths tow it back on my rarely used AAA card. Thanks mom and dad! I figure it is the fuel pump and or filter. bought new ones, and then broke the new chi-com filter off inside the carb, barely tightening it. returned it, got a quality wix from franklin. proceeded to break off a easy out inside it, and noticed the carb had a hairline crack and gave up for the sunday. bah, I'll try and grab a carb this weekend at the junkyard, and prob rebuild it and throw it on with all new gaskets (again). oh well. there's my update.

taller? bah 36x13.5 iroks are smaller overall than 35x14.5x15 boggers. I still havn't fixed the truck..ended up getting the lady a new car and trying to sell the old car.

So how do you like those iroks under there? How tall do they actually measure out height wise. I just put a set of 37 MTR's under mine and love the ride. Still has awesome power and rides so much better.

My old 35 boggers barely measure 33 inchs tall with half tread
