Looks like a cool place to explore.

In regards to the Ranger..."The truck ran fine until a friend did all this work to the truck all at the same time, and then it would not start...i figure he has the timing off on something but not sure."

This might have something to do with running points on an 86. That rig should at least have electronic ignition, if not EFI.

I could be wrong though. I usually am. Good looking truck, go for it.

I know a lot of guys with Scouts that have electronic ignition and they have converted back to points. The Holley 'gold box' ignitions in the Scouts are famous for dieing without warning, and points are considered more reliable and are definately easier to replace in the field.
Maybe that's what is going on here. Perhaps they converted back to points, but didn't do it right and the thing won't start. Be leary, but it still seems like a nice truck for 1500. Let us know how it turns out.

yeah cant wait to check it out once i can get a rig.i might just take my dads truck up thier, i think id be fine its 2wd tho. would be lots of fun just to go camping up their and explore stuff. i went out their in a car and one of the parking lots had a warning sign at the begning that said no cars, so i didnt wanna risk it. looked like it had lots of pot holes and it had recently rained so i didnt wanna get stuck  . but im sure that trail would be loads of fun. :headbanger:

guy was supposed to tow ranger home yesterday so im hoping to check it out today or tomarrow, i guess he works night shift so its hard for him to be awake during the day and stuff.

cant wait to have my ol ranger back, :hyper:

I've been on several GWNF trails, and know people who have been on practically all of them. Shoe Creek/Crabtree falls is a good run in GWNF and open year round.. lots of rocks, and some stuff to play on. I think Second Mountain is supposed to give some good views and be a good ride, but not very challenging.

Stoney Run Jeep Trail is in the Sherando Lake area, and is supposed to be good.. but it was gated the last time i tried to run it.

its a jeep thing.. you wouldn't understand
