22re Vs 22rec Head Rate Topic: -----

Hey guys , my question is what is the differance between a 22-re and a 22-rec head ? im having trouble with the timming chain not fiting ,way to tight ,not leaving any room for guides or tencher with the rec head on my stock 22-re block .in my 87 4runner. or am i just doing somthing wrong? here are some pics of the chain. any responce will be GREATLY helpful!!! There are two size toyota chains looks like you have a post 85 chain and need a pre 85 chain there is a difference in length. Do the tensioner bolts line up ??? check at your local parts store and they should be able to pull both chains and show you the differance. The head your useing should be taller than the original. its a carburated head and you should be fuel injected.

thanks for the info on the chain,The tensioner bolts line up perfectly , the head came off a 87 supra fuel injected 22-rec motor could that be the problem? thank you very much!.... KRIS
