Well ive finally saved enough cash to start my 22retc rebuild...I got the truck about a month ago and it had a really bad bottom end knock....so I pulled the oil pan (good thing it had a 4in ifs lift or it would have been as easy) and found that the #4 rod bearing was spun...bearing was down to nothin...we checked the crank and it was pretty beat up...so we pulled the engine torn it down to the bare block... spent $709.00 on machine work and parts... had the crank welded and turned...block hot tanked and bored, rods resized, and the head pressure tested.....good thing is passed....and ordered parts for only $709 bucks at north state auto parts here in chico....way cheapers then at riebies and auto zone....ect
If anyone needs machine work done northstate is the place to go...Good quality work, cheap, and didnt trade my parts for some junk parts.... all my parts i marked and they were all returned to me....

well heres some pics of the engine rebuild... not done yet but its coming along.... :headbanger:
photo bucket- cuz i was having problems postin pics

I added up all the parts from that site....and it came out to be $445.00 for the same parts i have below...thats $69 less that northstate....would have saved alot if they didnt charge for S&H...

PARTS AND MACHINE WORK FROM NORTH STATE

rod and main bearings: $46.36
pistons and rings $162.00 compared to $285.00 at rebies
oil pump $75.00
gasket set $97.00
water pump $38.00
time chain set $65.00 bought from AUTO ZONE

$ 514.00 with tax

hot tank $30.00
bore $60.00
resize rods $40.00
weld crank $45.00
grind crank $85.00

total of $260.00

Im happy with the price considering that i didnt have to use pay pal....credit cards or some internet or phone payment method and didnt have to worry about my parts not arriving.... northstate had them for me in 2 days....dropped block and crank off friday and got it back monday....(cuz they only grind cranks on mondays)....or it would have been sooner...
