my hubs pop every once in a while. how long do you think these are going to last. and has any one done the auto to manual locking hub kit on a bronco II. and how can u make a dana 28 stronger.

It's easy to go to manual, that was the first thing I did on my Bronco II. I picked up some hubs off e-bay.

Are there really any mods for strengthening the 28? I know it doesn't have much to work with. Those u-joints are smaller than my driveline joints. I would think that if you start breaking that front end, it would be time to upgrade. I don't know what your skills are, but I bet you could throw a D44 under there with leaf springs pretty easily.

the dana 35 out of a exployer is a bolt on fit. Need a shorter drive line that is the only mod.

thanks guys. i was thinking about doing the dana 35 swap. the 28 just dosent make me feel that great when going up rocks or hills with the tires spining.
