Haha i saw "last post by bryota" and i thought... ohh ####.. here we go.

Quick update
I'm just taking a break from cleaning up the wagoneer 44's, they look to be in really good condition as to the condition of the truck they came off of. The bearings seem to turn real smooth and no wear on the gears. A little brake cleaner and some elbow grease and they are starting to look good. Tomorrow I am going to take the spindles off and whatnot since i have to get the rotors turned, as well as check thuroughly the bearings as i want to make these axles reliable.. I'm gonna do it right..

P.S. Bryota I am getting sheetmetal and square tubing for rock sliders to cover up the rock damage you so wonderfully left everywhere :headbanger:

Ok.. Its Monday and I'm bored so I'm back at it.
The brakes on the front 44 are in need of some pads, and a nice dip in a hot tank to clean them up. I figure on wednesday I will be ordering my 5.89's from a guy from pirate4x4. Good deal he wants only 375 shipped gears and install kit, add 90 bucks if i need new carriers. Now I have run into a few questions that I would like to find an answer for..

First I was wondering about the front axle.. It is a 79 Waggy 44 that has flat top knuckles.. Now my question is with the flat top knuckles do i have to have them machined so I can run the hi-steer arms off of them? Or can I do the install in my garage?

What kinda power steering setup would be a good one for what I'm running.. Will the toyota box and pump be sufficient for the tires and axles?

You should be able to get the bolt on arms. IIRC knuckles only have to be machined if they are not flat top to begin with. They have to be milled, drilled and tapped. Check out Parts Mike. www.partsmike.com select parts catalog, steering. They also have tech assistance.

You might look in to a hydro-boost or RockRam type system, also at parts mike. Don't forget to reinforce the frame where the steering box mounts up, if it's not done already.

More pics, more pics.

So a quick update

The project is kinda on a standstill right now. As I have only 40' of DOM, I was thinking about purchasing a interior rollcage already made up, and using the DOM that i have to make tube fenders, sliders, and exo what i can.. The project is at a standstill right now because I am awaiting the funds for the gears and spools for my waggy axles.. I am probably going to slap in some seats and the roll bar and go beat the #### out of it this weekend :headbanger:

Hello everyone.. I haven't posted in 6 months.. I've moved to a new place with another buddy (who is a diesel mechanic). Anyways, the samurai is here at my new place.. I DONT have a digi camera so i'm probably going to get bashed for no pictures.. Sorry.. I'm not in tune with the 21st century. Anyways, The Samurai has only the seat portion and firewall left on the thing.. No rear or front clip at all, Samurai axles are gone.. Steering box is gone and motor, tranny and t-case are ready to come out. I'm about to go out right now and cut the frame in the center.. and make room for (I cant decide) 20" Extention or more. I'm picking up my 38" TSL's today as well. Now you are probably asking.. Why are you taking the samurai motor/tranny/tcase out?? Well me, my mechanic room mate, and 2 buddies were sitting around drinking beer... and decided were going to drop a Chevy 350/3spd granny low/and i can remember what tcase he said into it.. I have all the parts to do so lying around.. so thats whats goin in i guess. I guess thats all the update i have so far, someday i'll buy a digi cam, or one of my buddies can bring one over.
