Most interesting....

A somewhat similar thing happened to AMC with the CJ5 in I believe late 1981.

60 Minutes did similar "rollover" tests with the CJ5 and "proved" it rolled over too easy.

The CJ5 disappeared from the market and we now have this mess of TJ / and whatever else they now call (not so) short wheel base Jeeps.

I was President of Cal4Wheel at the time, and received prior to the showing of the segment the tape that would air, and all the PR package to counter the claims. Not a lot we could do (as neither could Suzuki) because the power of 60 Minutes and CU would out-run the wallet of car buyers.

Makes one wonder who made a huge donation to CU to "cause" this one vehicle to be forced to show worse than the others. It's too late, but I hope Suzuki kicks a s s in court, and gets big bucks!

I never have given much credit to CU or consumer report's they have and always will report what they want to. most people will not have to do evasive manuvers like they test for and if they do they are useally going to crash in one way or another because the majority of the people that drive are not trained professionals!!!! I have seen alot of wrecks and rollover's and some of the rollover's were vehicles that you would not expect to roll. I rolled a 1980 chev chevett that should not have rolled with what happened but it did it just depend's on the situationor the driver not nessasarily the vehicle.
(Caution) I have an 05 wrangler and I'm not afraid to use it

when i was still in school I had todo a report on the zuks and the reason they stoped selling, found out all sorts of stuff CU used to pull, suzuki changed the offset of the tire to give it better stability at the same speed (IE the bigger wheel flares in later years) and the CU would put on the smaller tires on and do the same run,

But CU got theres later on
Hello me... Meet the real me
And my misfits way of life
A dark black past is my
Most valued possession
Hindsight is always 20-20,
But looking back it's still a bit fuzzy
Speak of mutually assured destruction?
Nice story... Tell it to Reader's Digest!

Feeling paranoid
True enemy or false friend?
Anxiety's attacking me, and
My air is getting thin
I'm in trouble for the things
I haven't got to yet
I'm chomping at the bit, and my
Palms are getting wet, sweating bullets.
