Wondering if anyone can recommend a fuel injector additive to clean injectors. My idle is a little rough somtimes, not serious I know it is time for a tune up (has'nt had one yet 105,000 miles) but thought i might try an injector cleaner.Any pros on an additive 96 Ford 4.0 V-6.Thanks in advance :-

I'm no expert on cleaners, but to me it's like saying one brand of butter is better than another brand of butter. Maybe someone else has a preference to which ones you like better...

I like to go to parts store and look through all the cleaners to see whats in them and what they do, and ussually get the most expensive one because you only get what you pay for. :-

Like they say, there are a lot out there to use, but if you have that many miles on it, it is do for a tune up. Might even need the trottle body and the IAC cleaned. They tend to get a little gunked up after time on the Fords.

I've always been really happy with Berryman brand. They make a carburator dip that is awesome. I like the b-12 chemtool fuel additive to displace water and clean jets, injectors, and the backside of the intake valves, etc.

Seafoam. Run half the bottle through you brake booster line, then stall out the motor. Dump the rest in the gas tank. Wait a couple minutes then fire it up. Smokes crazy nasty for awhile, but cleans and lubes valves and cumbustion chambers, and the rest in the tank cleans fuel injectors pretty well. Worked for me nice. Or Ive heard lucas fuel treatment works also.

By the way I think predator nailed it on the head with the dirty Idle air control valve and t body, and tuneup. :D

Here's another  for Seafoam.
I ran a whole bottle thru my intake and man did I notice a difference.

1. The Heep starts on the first try everytime now.
2. No more crazy high and long coke times when starting. It chokes for about 10 seconds and kicks down real nice now.
3. It feels like it got a bit more power especially when climbing 9 mile and the Anderson/Cottonwood grades.
4. The motor sounds healthier, no more inconsistent idle.

Next bottle is going into the crankcase and fuel tank.

If you use this stuff make sure you park it some place where the smoke and exhaust spewage won't be an issue.
I parked across the street. The smoke plume got pretty thick and tall.
The woman was worried that somebody was gonna call the fire department.
The stain was nasty too, looked like my motor had diarrhea.

+1 for seafoam. All the escort guys use it. Works great, but yea the smoke show is nutso. I did it to my bronco in my apartment complex, and people came out of their houses to watch. I should probley do it again and replace the plugs. I could only imagine how much #### was in there from the years it sat. My other suggestion is lucas. I have always had GREAT luck with their tranny additives in 200k plus jy trannys, and im sure their other products are just as good.

+1 for sea foam i work at an auto parts store and we move more Seafoam than any other cleaner. I run a bottle through my 1986 F150 every 6 months or so it has run at least 100% better since i've been using it. Also i had a sticky lifter and put 1/2 a bottle in my oil and it got rid of it almost instantly.
If at first you do not succeed give it more gas
