Is this going to be your daily driver?

Might want to think about gas prices

Nice looking rig no doubt

Of course, I have no concept of the Sled

You could be saving gas for all I know

i will definitly look at the steering box now, thank you for the tip.

what is a good/bad tranny? i cant remember but i believe i asked him and he said it was a 4 speed auto, so im assuming that its a 700r4.

as for the transfer case, i dont think i asked him, but i am almost positive its stock, as is everything else on this truck. would that be NP203 or NP205?

is there anything to look out for, i.e. a certain trans or t-case that i should stay away from?

by the way he said the frame and gas tank have been POR-15'ed

My '90 Burban has an NP241 in it. They have a stock 2.7:1 low range. 350TBI and 700r4. Click the link in my sig that says "Mine". I have plenty of power and get around 12mpg.

Here's the link to my specs http://www.4x4trailhunters.com/my.4x4/vehi...hp?id=63&vid=93
The pic you have up there looks like a 1/2 ton. More than likely it will have corporate 10 bolt axles front and rear. If it is a 3/4 ton then it will have a corporate 14 bolt rear and likely a corp 10 bolt front with bigger brakes than a 1/2 ton.
Yes, I traded a guy a chicago electric mig welder for a basketcase porsche motor quite a few years ago. It has a counterweighted 66mm crank, polished rods, 100mm empi pistons, etc. I could use some weber 44's for it though, those dellorto 36's on it have a idle circuit problem that I'm tired of dealing with. They would fit a smaller engine better.

well im the proud owner of a mildly rusty 89 gmc suburban.

the good: starts, idles, runs, drives great, interior is almost mint

bad: needs shocks very bad, needs some bodywork, needs brakes sometime but they will suffice for now.

700R4 trans, NP205 transfer case

so we drive the hour to get up there, we check it out, test drive it and all is well. we go to look at the sled i traded him, and it didnt start, so, we pulled the plugs...no spark. turns out the killswitch was getting messed up but i thought i was out a truck.

the deal: i give him my snowmobile. he keeps the plow. he gives me $500 and a truck. im pretty happy with the setup.

I GOT A 4x4!!! :headbanger: :headbanger: :headbanger:

If you need a steering box for that burban there are plenty at the pick-in-pull in Redding. Looks like a nice rig, hope you have fun with it.
