Well I knew my rebuild went to smoothly when it fired up right away. I'm not sure if I have some vacum lines messed up but when I first start it, it wants to idle at like 500 rpm's. I try messing with the idle screw and it doesn't do anything. Also it wont fast idle like it use to when it was cold. The weirdest thing is, as it warms up the idle goes up to between 1000-1500 rpm's (depending on how warm it gets). Any ideas? It's a pain in the morning when its cold because it trys to idle so low and it just sputters then dies. Thanks

did you rebuild the carb ? messing with the idle screw will do nothing the choke lenkage has an adjutment its self thats the one you need to turn up and make sure all your linkage to the choke is working properly

No I didn't rebuild the carb, why fix something thats not broken I say, but I'll try adjusting the choke. I still don't understand why the idle gets higher as it gets warmer, it's backwards of what is should do.

Is it timed correctly? Sounds like it could be retarded.

Maybe it needs to be advanced?
I'm not a politician anyways, so no worries.

Yeah well I have a friend with a Bronco II fuel injected and hes having way worse problems with his fuel system so I'll stick with the good old carb. :D

I would have to agree with you. "The Beast" is fuel injected and it is hard to say anything good about fuel injection when you thought you were going to be stuck 9 1/2 miles from a main road in the snow....At least with a carb you dont have to hire a mechanic to come out on a snow-mobile to work on your rig in the snow. You can at least get it closer to the main road if you are having problems, and at least your rig will run.
