<opinion>If you look at the geometry and think about how cutting and welding weakens the tubing (yes, it does, most times), a single diagonal piece may do the job. No matter which side you roll to, the diagonal would still support the hoop as long as it remains welded on both ends during the roll. (Not that I'm biased, but that's why I did it that way on my rig. :-" )</opinion>
I also agree with you on not doing the SOA. On the Ultimate Adventure, Tim Brady's Samurai was on 35" BFG Krawlers, and was still spring-under, and that guy does things with that rig that put just about everybody else to shame. If you can fit the 36's and still stay low, you're ahead of the game.
The top is off!!

Yea i have been thinking about the single diagonal because it would alow me to still be able to get out of the back incase of an emergency and would also be cheaper.
as far as tires go, the next stage is 35x10.5x15 because i can still keep the same wheels (the 36's need wider wheels and different off set)
i have been offered a cheap front locker, which i might get which will mean i dotn have much money for a cage so i might have to call in a favour from a mate and do it with him in a weekend (didnt want to do this)
