Hiya!
Add me to your northwest ranks. I live in the northeastern part of Oregon but I travel around as much as I can, and am starting to look over some maps to plan a trip around Mt. Rainier at the end of the month sometime. Probably myself and 1 or 2 other rigs, camping out a couple nights. My thought was to visit:

1. Naches/Naches Pass
2. Evans Creek
3. Elbe Hills

I've done part of this loop a few years ago and have been itchin to do it again ever since. I've got a pretty good handle on the Naches area (or my buddy does anyway) and Evans Cr., but could use some advice, links about Elbe Hills and whatever else I've forgotten from someone who knows firsthand.

Do they usually shut down Evans Creek for fire season? Got any links?

Thanks a bunch!

We only have about 3 days and are going to try and make the most of it.
Just because you can do something doesn't mean it's a good idea.

as far as i know Evans stay's open all year. I have been in the snow and summer. Naches i think gets closed for the winter, mainly because there is no way to get help in thier if you get hurt. Unless they go by helecopter. elbe I have no idea. I'mplanning on going there maybe this weekend.

Well if you do I'd look forward to hearing about it and seeing some pics. Good luck!
