hey cpage. I know this is off topic but... Im curious about the sure-trac. How long have you had it? how does it work? is it a full locker? you know all the usual questions. You should start a thread about it or maybe a tech article. I know everyone with a d44a has been anxious for a locker.

Jer,
The Sure-Trac was actually offered as an option on the 1999-2000 year models. Why Jeep deleted it I don't know unless they wanted more sales of the Quadradrive. I bought mine from a guy on JU for $75 US brand new and we installed it ourselves and the only thing we had to do was drill out the bolt holes just a touch bigger.
It's only a limited slip, but right now it's the only thing in the world guaranteed for the 44A. But it has really helped the Grand and I'm debating what to put in the front right now (which will be a full selectable locker).
I've heard the Sure-Trac's lifespan is a little short but they are rebuildable so I've gotta keep an eye out for that...
I've also heard of someone who has modified a regular D44 spool to work in the 44A but we have pressed him for more details and he hasn't been that forthcoming with the info so we don't know if he's blowing smoke or not. If that is viable it might be something I'll look at in the future.
